Last week I was helping Dentist customer to fix the error they are getting when they try to run “Patient Chart” on “Dentrix” software.
It was very challenging for me. Calling Dentrix company did not help. They wanted customer to pay $139.99 upfront and saying that there is no “guarantee” that problem will be fixed right away. However, making some research I found out that Software itself has a problem with windows update, especially if .Net Framework is updated to the latest version 4.6 and up. Reinstalling the Windows 7 from the scratch did not help either. It looks like Windows 7 installation comes with the .Net framework ver. 4.6.
Here is the solution for this error:
- You have to uninstall .Net Framework ver.4.6. This version does not come with Uninstallation, however, download the “Program Install and Uninstall Troubleshooter” from here. Run in and find the .Net Framework ver.4.6 and uninstall it.
- Next download .Net Framework ver 4.5 from here (official offline installer) or here (official online installer).
- Restart the computer.
- Enjoy Your Dentrix “Patient Chart” working again.
